Tyrol, second half 18th C.

Glass panel painted on reverse in opaque and transparent pigments against black ground. With retouches in red. Ebonised and gilded softwood frame, H 41.5, W 60 cm.

The large format of this work is unusual for Tyrolean reverse glass paintings. Nothing comparable could be found either in specialist literature or in museum collections.
