A pair of very fine Satsuma vases by Yabu Meizan. Osaka. Around 1900

Of elongated ovoid shape, painted in enamels, gold and thick white enamels with the illustrations of the Twenty-Four Paragons of Filial Piety in cloud-shapes reserved from a black-and-white ground of hexagons and flowers, textile patterns to the shoulders. Signed Meizan sei to the base.
