An ivory netsuke of a grazing horse. Late 18th century

Standing in balance with closely placed together hooves and head lowered, the back with large dark fur spots which hide the age cracks. The small eye pupils of black horn.
Height 5.6 cm

Private collection, Rhineland Palatinate, acquired in the German art trade in the 1970s/1980s, the present piece purchased from Offermann & Schmitz, Wuppertal
