Kopf eines Buddha. Terracotta. Thailand. Haripunjaya-Stil. 13. Jh.

Breiter Kopf mit spitz zulaufendem Kinn, die stilisierten Brauen treffen sich oberhalb des Nasenrückens, der lächelnde Mund mit tiefen Mundwinkeln, die spitzen kleinen Locken fehlen teilweise. Drei tief gravierte Halsfalten. Metallsockel.

Sammlung A. B. Griswold (1907-1991), amerikanischer auf Thailand spezialisierter Privatgelehrter, der seine Sammlung der Walters Art Gallery in Baltimore und der Cornell University, Ithaka, NY, vermachte
