A Dutchman with a crane. Ivory. Early 19th century

With a friendly laugh, a wide hat over his tied-back, curly hair, his right leg slightly bent and holding a crane. His short over-skirt decorated on the wide hem with finely engraved, darkly accentuated foaming waves above thick fringing over the bulbous hem of his knickerbockers. Ivory, very finely carved, polished and engraved with darkly accentuated details. A nice, yellow-gold patina to the back.
