A Grassmayr mortar from 1668

Golden brown cast bronze with silvery shimmering brown patina. The display side decorated with a frieze of dancing grotesques beneath a band of ornament consisting of a cherub's head, putti heads, sage leaves and other leaf motifs. Dated “1668” within the depiction beneath the owner's initials “P W P” in capital letters. With one small handle formed as a dolphin. H 13.7, D 14.2 cm. Weight c. 2.3 kg.
