An ivory manjû. Mid-19th century

With rounded sides. Darkly accentuated and finely engraved in sunken relief with two wasps at a large nest hanging on a leafy branch, with further loose leaves on the golden-yellow reverse accentuated with reddish-browns spots. Slight damage. Restored
