A Prussian silver rubel beaker commemorating the Battle of Zorndorf

Parcel gilt silver beaker formed from a rubel coin, the outer surface with a rhyming engraved inscription “Von Rubel hat man mich gemacht, Zum Denckmahl Zorndorffs blutiger Schlacht / Zorndorff den 25. Aug. 1758 Vivat Fridrich II Koenig in Preussen”. The base inset with a quarter rubel bearing a portrait of Catherine the Great. Marken: Preußischer Steuerstempel von 1809, ansonsten ungemarkt. H 3,3 cm, Weight 26 g.
